A well  made seafood bisque is so flavoursome and satisfying. I hope you'll enjoy my take on this French classic. It's a lovely soup to serve for entree at your next dinner party. You can make the soup up to end of step 4 on the morning of the dinner party, keep it in the fridge. Continue on from step 5 close to serving. Bon appétit!

Easy Chicken Soup

A good chicken soup is deliciously nourishing and good for the soul. It's one of my favourite things to have on a cold day. I usually make a large pot of soup and then freeze portion sizes so it can be popped in the fridge to defrost overnight ready to heat up when I'm tired after the day and just want to be nurtured. Team it with a slice or two of keto bread or a seeded bread, if you're extra hungry. It's a family favourite.

Jan's Favourite Lentil Soup

This is an excellent vegetarian soup for lentil lovers. It's so warming for winter meals and can be taken to work in a thermos mug ready to enjoy for lunch. If you don't have brown lentils, use red ones or the French green puy lentils. If you prefer sweet potato, you can swap that for the desiree potatoes. Add extra herbs too if you like and consider topping it with a dollop of basil pesto. Enjoy!

​I was making this soup and thinking that Jewish people have known the nourishing and nurturing benefits of a good bone broth for centuries. You may or may not have heard of late how good bone broths are for you, especially for gut disorders. A great cookbook to look at for further broths (stocks) is Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon. This is my recipe for you to try. (Just a little note on bone broths - if you have histamine intolerance then bone broth won't be suitable for you.)

​A warming soup rich in calcium can help soothe tense muscles and encourage sound sleep. Most people know that calcium is important for bone health and strength but did you know that broccoli is a good source of this important mineral? Broccoli also provides vitamin C, some iron and potassium as well as dietary fibre. Broccoli helps protect against cancer due to the indoles it contains. Celeriac gives a rich celery-like flavour and provides dietary fibre too. Fibre is important for healthy digestion.
