Naturopathic Nutritionist Jan is a naturopathic nutritionist, health writer and award-winning author. Her approach is practical, simple and effective. Jan completed her naturopathic nutritional medicine qualifications at Nature Care College initially and, later on, further studies with Health Schools Australia. She has been in practice since 1996, first in the busy Sydney CBD practice Hands On Sydney for five years, and then in Perth since 2002. Jan ran her own practice in Perth for eight years before joining Remede Wellness Medicine in 2010. Jan’s passion for nutrition started during her first career as a home economist, where she taught cooking demonstrations, and worked on recipe and product development, as well as teaching. This included working in the Australian Women’s Weekly Test Kitchen for six years as a food editor. |
It was during this time that Jan became more interested in the nutritional importance of food, which led her to commence nutritional medicine studies. Jan’s wealth of experience allows her to combine her expertise on health and nutrition with cooking, writing and public speaking.
In addition to her busy practice, she was the contributing natural health editor for Australian Good Taste magazine and her monthly column ‘Natural Solutions’ appeared in the magazine for 14 years.
As an experienced nutritionist, ‘foodie’ and accomplished recipe developer, Jan has authored eight books on cooking, meditation and natural health. Her last two books have won international awards. The Eat Well Cookbook, a fabulous gluten-free and dairy-free book, followed fast on the heels of The Detox Cookbook, which is an essential guide to doing a detox well with delicious recipes.
Jan works closely with her clients to ensure the best outcomes to help them to achieve true vitality.
