This is a nourishing broth to have over the cooler months to help support your immune system. The ginger and turmeric have excellent anti-inflammatory properties. Dried nettle leaves are available from your health food store. Think of this drink when you have a cold or flu virus - it will do you loads of good. You can make the bone broth using organic chicken bone broth powder. I always keep a packet of this in my pantry. |
Ingredients 500ml (2 cups) chicken bone broth 1 tablespoon dried nettle leaves 2 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon thinly sliced fresh red chilli 4 sprigs fresh thyme 1 small garlic clove, thinly sliced 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil | Method 1 Combine water or stock, nettle leaves, ginger, chilli, thyme, garlic, turmeric and oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low. Cook, covered, for 3 minutes or until aromatic. Set aside for 5 minutes to infuse. Taste and season with salt. 2 Strain into a glass to serve. Makes 2 cups |
