This is a nourishing broth to have over the cooler months to help support your immune system. The ginger and turmeric have excellent anti-inflammatory properties. Dried nettle leaves are available from your health food store. Think of this drink when you have a cold or flu virus - it will do you loads of good. You can make the bone broth using organic chicken bone broth powder. I always keep a packet of this in my pantry.
500ml (2 cups) chicken bone broth
1 tablespoon dried nettle leaves
2 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon thinly sliced fresh red chilli
4 sprigs fresh thyme
1 small garlic clove, thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
1 Combine water or stock, nettle leaves, ginger, chilli, thyme, garlic, turmeric and oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low. Cook, covered, for 3 minutes or until aromatic. Set aside for 5 minutes to infuse. Taste and season with salt.
2 Strain into a glass to serve.
